Licenciado em Ensino de Português e Inglês pela Universidade de Évora. Foi docente universitário na Universidade de Évora, na Universidade Nacional Autónoma das Honduras e na Universidade de Helsínquia, bem como em escolas internacionais (Northbridge International School Cambodia e European School of Helsinki). É colaborador regular da organização International Baccalaureate como Examinador do Diploma Programme. Trabalhou em diversos países, nomeadamente em Portugal, nas Honduras, na Finlândia, na Alemanha e no Cambodja. O Manual de Fonética é o seu primeiro livro didático.
